fitlet2 specifications
fitlet2 - Size
- fitlet2 measures just 112mm x 84mm.
- It is one of the smallest PCs on the market that is still fully featured.
- The low-energy models are only 25 mm thick.
- The performance models are 34 mm thick.
fitlet2 is designed as a metal 3D puzzle with interlocking parts.
However, it is very easy to take apart to install RAM, storage and expansion cards.
Built tough
System
fitlet2 is based on a quad-core Apollo-Lake Atom with up to 16 GB of RAM.
It delivers performance that previously required a Core CPU that couldn’t fit into such a small passively cooled footprint due to higher power consumption.
Extensions
Each IoT project is unique. A generic IoT gateway can rarely meet all special requirements.
That’s why fitlet2 is made of modules – these extra requirements are implemented with an expansion module that integrates seamlessly into the cabinet. This module is called FACET-Card (Function And Connectivity Extension T-Card).
CompuLab has a portfolio of frequently requested FACET boards including:
● Additional Gbit Ethernet ports
● Additional USB ports
● 2.5″ HDD support
● 4G LTE modem in connection with WiFi
● Power-over-Ethernet device (PoE PD)
● More FACET cards are under development
The FACET map interface is public with already designed FACET maps published for reference. This allows solution providers and 3rd parties to design their own custom FACET Cards.
Storage
fitlet2 supports the following main storage devices
● M.2 SATA provides high performance and large storage capacity
● 2.5″ HDD/SSD* is for extra capacity and for intensive write operations such as video recording
● eMMC on an M.2 module is a cost-effective storage solution for price-sensitive applications
The storage unit is attached using a specially designed M.2 heatsink that conducts the heat through the case.
*2.5″ storage device requires a special FACET card and a raised base cover
Networking
Versatile networking is a key requirement for an IoT gateway. fitlet2 addresses this requirement with dual Gbit Ethernet ports (Intel I211) expandable to 4 ports and support for WiFi and 4G modem in cooperation.
Built tough
fitlet2 is designed with fanless cooling, which CompuLab has developed and refined for over 10 years:
- A metal case that is thermally conductive and designed for effective convection cooling
- Thermally coupled hot-spots (CPU, SSD) to the case
- Uses the cabinet as a cooling element.
Mounting
fitlet2 is small enough to be easily and securely mounted in almost any IoT scenario – in a closet, in a vehicle, inside a vending machine or just mounted behind a screen, on the wall or on a piece of furniture.
fitlet2 has the following mounting options:
- VESA mounting bracket
- Industrial top cover
- DIN rail*
- Managing on/off state

Power supply
fitlet2 can work at a wide input voltage range of 9V – 36V.
It can also be powered by a PoE FACET card.
The DC plug has a special twist lock to prevent accidental power loss in the event of a disconnection error.
